I come from the light.
I have a serving profession.
I construct my own life in images.
I ironically report the hunt on earthly treasures.
I have compassion.
I started out as a painter.
I started photography when I was 20, when I found out that my Brazilian
lover was HIV positive.
I wanted to beat the decay, to exorcize, record his horny body.
Photography seemed to be the most efficient way to achieve this. Furthermore,
it's less messy and cheaper than painting.
Soon I used my camera as a tool to gatecrash interesting and inaccessible
parties.
As an outsider without taking part, I'm the uninvited guest, who plays
on the vanity of hosts and guests.
I get a kick out of that. I photograph to maintain my reality, in my world
of glitter and glamour where good taste and formality rule.
I search for true beauty and real wealth.
Through recording beauty, I put my craving for it, and myself into perspective.
This is how my timeless icons originate.
